Recipe
Ingredients
- •2 large carrots
- •1 onion
- •4 cloves garlic
- •1/2 cup cilantro
- •1 head green cabbage
- •1 pound ground turkey
- •2 teaspoons ground turmeric
- •sea salt, to taste
Instructions
- 1.Preheat your oven to 375F. Grate the carrots, mince your onion and garlic, and chop the fresh cilantro.
- 2.Bring a massive pot of water to a rolling boil. Cut the core out of your cabbage head, submerge the entire head in the boiling water for 60 seconds, then pull it out. The leaves will now easily peel away and be perfectly pliable!
- 3.This recipe yields 12 rolls, providing 4 servings (3 large leaves per serving). Peel off 12 large leaves from the blanched head and save the remaining leaves for another use.
- 4.In a large bowl, mix your ground turkey, grated veggies, turmeric, and salt by hand. Warning: Turmeric will stain your hands yellow, so wear gloves or use a spoon if you care!
- 5.Spoon about a quarter-cup of the turkey filling into the base of each cabbage leaf and roll it up tightly, folding the sides in like a burrito.
- 6.Arrange the rolls seam-side down in a 9x13 baking dish, pour a half-cup of water into the bottom to create steam, and bake for 30 minutes until fully cooked through.
- 7.Allow to cool slightly, plate them up, and serve!
